MONDAY, FEBRUARY 3

(with more wine and less whining)

Wine Toast

Join us for our monthly night of networking for mission-driven and creative solopreneurs. Each month, we'll start with casual mingling and then feature a guest speaker to share insights about a topic relevant to all solopreneurs, whether they run holistic healing, counseling or coaching practices, creative solopreneur ventures, or side hustles.

This month, Kris Gowen, PhD, EdM will offer a talk called, Grief + Loss = Love, in which she discusses how grief and loss are not as distant as we think.

In this talk, you will learn about about the cycle of grief – and then dismantle it and reflect on what brings you joy – and embrace it.

As a karaoke ambassador, storyteller, and sex educator, Dr. Gowen is the author of the book, One Nation Under Song: My Karaoke Journey through Grief, Joy, and America. She loves talking, writing, and presenting about traditionally "taboo" topics. This short talk will be followed by a brief Q&A and more mingling. (Gowen will also sell and sign copies of her book.)

VISION BOARD WORKSHOP

SUNDAY, JANUARY 26, 2020

THEME: New Year / New You

“Caring for myself is not self-indulgence, it is self-preservation, and that is an act of political warfare.”

-- Audre Lorde

Are you wishing you had more fun? Has 'overwhelm' taken over your life? Have you forgotten how to 'play'? Vision boarding can help you carve out an improved, more mindful reality for ourselves. The brain research backs this up -- by tricking your brain into deciding that you're going to do it. What would more fun and play in your life look like? What activity (or lack thereof) will help you feel inspired, connect more with your friends and family, and, well, feel a bit like a kid again?

To make it easy by we provide pre-cut magazine pictures and words, glue, cardstock and a few art supplies. We'll provide prompts to move you forward if you're "stuck" and give you a chance to connect with an interesting group of people in a creative, motivating space.

Brunch is included.

If you would like to create a vision for your Self Care Plan, join Elizabeth Cramer of Every Day Best Style & Kristin Schuchman of Spark a Career for this special Vision Board Workshop. They will help you create a vision board to start to see it more clearly come to life.
